QGIS US Users Group

Jul 18, 2024 | Default

Through a long series of events – here we are: https://qgis-us.org

The events:

  • qgis.us gets registered.
  • Boundless takes the domain to Planet.
  • Planet doesn’t pay the domain registration costs
  • Through the best efforts of a lot of good people – it’s gone.

So – we have a new domain and a new website. So what does that mean?

  • Easier for me to deal with. The old site was on github and while github doesn’t bother me much – ediitng a website there does.
  • Easier to post events.
  • Unfortunately we lose a long running domain name (we might get it back – I’m not done trying yet but….)
  • Changes are pushing through the QGIS.org website currently.

While at best the US group isn’t very active – maybe this can spur some more activity.

Anyway – In honor of the ESRI UC – Here we go!
