It’s been a while since I’ve done a QGIS US meeting. Part of it was burnout and part I’ve been busy with work and life. So we’re talking projections tomorrow. Proj is a bigger project than just QGIS – but it’s nice to know how that project is moving along.

Title: A Recent History of Proj
PROJ is 43 year old open source software that sits underneath a large swath of open and commercial GIS software. In 2018, it began to evolve toward being a geodetic transformation library, and it gained numerous features such as late-binding transformation pathways, support for automated grid shifting, and time-aware transformations. Howard will give a history of these updates along with describe some of the features and improvements that are still underway while the project attempts to keep up with the transformation of the geodetic description, metadata, and function operations of many countries throughout the world.
For probably the first 15 minutes I’m going to talk about QGIS and all the othre fun going on with QGIS US.
