Intro to QGIS Class – Chattanooga – January 21 2016

Dec 7, 2015 | Chattanooga, Open Source GIS, QGIS, Tennessee, Training

So the first Intro to QGIS Class of the new year….and a slightly new location (as I’ve only tried this once in Chattanooga).

  • January 21 2016 is the date.
  • Chattanooga TN is the location

We cover four areas in this class:

  • Navigating the interface
  • Project Configuration
  • Analysis
  • Print Composer

Hopefully if this happens like other classes we will and we will cover more than the topics – We cover how this fits in with your ESRI workflow and if your workflow could change (HINT IT CAN).

it’s also the first time I’m running it with the new data and the new exercises. Same Class – more interesting data and more interesting diversions into exercises. Less Shapefiles. More Databases. More of an idea of shaking up your GIS with new software and new ideas. Ideas which are remarkably old and standards based and might save you money.

I’m not putting an address out for the class yet as I’m narrowing it down and have three locations. As the class forms up I’ll know where it will be….and so will you.

Come to Chattanooga. Hang out. Learn something exciting.

I can sum it up: It's not much of one. Way back in my younger days I was infatuated with ArcPlot (which was the plotting portion of ArcINFO). From there I moved to Arcview, ArcMap, and eventually here to QGIS. All of my work typically revolves around Data. I usually...
