Geohipster 2027 Calendar

Aug 28, 2026 | Default

Above is a map from the 2026 Geohipster Calendar by Antonio Smith – Noteworthy because it’s East Tennessee.

The 2027 Geohipster calendar is now accepting admissions. You may think “Well it’s a bunch of open source weirdos over at Geohipster” and you could be right – but we’re also a group of Map weirdos. The above map used about everything you can use for maps and graphs. Last year we had a competition but I was still able to squeeze in every map submitted.

The deadline for the calendar is 10-23-26…or 20261023 OR 10/23/2026.

Geohipster has been a bit challenging this year because of me basically. Time is at a premium and I don’t think I’ve been as great at the questioning on the interview side. I have like 4 or 5 interviews out. I had 3 or so people not respond to the calendar “bio” (the small Q&A that happens if you make it into the calendar). Which doesn’t mean much except I need to change up my approach to this. One person screamed “Do a podcast” and I’m resistant because I’d rather have something written than digital floating around.

Anyway – it was time for a reminder to go out and this will work since this splashes up to bluesky, mastodon, and linkedin.

Send us some maps!
