I talk about QGIS a lot. I admit it. I also talk about the Intro to QGIS Class a lot.
Well. There were plans a while back to add a second day and I toyed with a “intermediate” QGIS Class. I still have the class and I’m still trying to decide how that works.
In August (2015) I did the Intro to QGIS Class and Spatial Focus’s Sara Yurman did the Intro to PostGIS class she had developed. It worked. We had a strong desktop offering and a really strong introduction to databases. We did this in one day – but we’ve got enough material for two days.
So introducing the two day class – Introduction to QGIS and PostGIS. So what will we cover? As much as we can but for the sake of an announcement: QGIS:
- Interface and installation
- Symbology
- Map Production
- Editing
- Plugins
PostGIS:
- Loading vector data from shapefiles, geodatabases or spreadsheet
- Address data
- Offline editing
- Backup and maintenance
- Setting up permissions for workgroups

Price: $325 per day or $600 for both days
