OSGEO.us

May 20, 2018 | OSGEO

So this is happening……http://osgeo.us . I know – website isn’t live yet but we’re getting there.

For those of you in OSGEO – you may have looked around and went “Hey – where is the US Chapter?”.  After the Boston 2017 Event – several people started talking and the decision was made to push this chapter into existence. Guido Stein is the focal point on this. He helped (through his non-profit Technocation) with the Boston event – so out of that he received some funding. With that funding – OSGEO.US has a budget. So we stand a chance…. we could snatch defeat from the Jaws of Victory – but it appears we might be successful.

If you’re interested in participating – https://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/OSGeoUS – put your name on the Wiki Page. Sign up for the email list. If everything goes according to plan we will be a chapter shortly. So what does that mean to you? We’re going to push for meetings. We’re going to advocate for FOSS4G software in the US. We’re going to do our best to help and not get bogged down in the minutia.

So help us out. Spread the word. Help us push this thing across the finish line. Stick your name on the Wiki!
