TNGIC has divided the state into three major divisions: West, Middle, and East. At each annual TNGIC Conference a different breakout session is conducted for each of these three division as a way to encourage more "localized" sharing of information between users. The breakout sessions also help facilitate the planning and organizing of the annual Fall Regional Conferences.

This page was created in an effort to provide information on the annual fall conference and as a way to get users communicating more in between conferences. Everyone from TNGIC Members to people who are are just interested in maps are encouraged to to get involved with GIS in the East Tennessee Area.

Previous East Tennessee Regional GIS Conferences have been held in the following venues

  • 2003 - Knoxville
  • 2004 - Chattanooga
  • 2005 - Johnson City
  • 2006 - Knoxville
  • 2007 - Pigeon Forge
  • 2008 - Kingsport (141 Attendees)
  • 2009 - Chattanooga

  • NetGIS - NetGIS is composed of a group of GIE users in North East Tennessee. Meetings occur Approximately once a quarter. Meeting Cost is a donation of Ten (or more) dollars. Lunch is Provided. Every meeting has a special guest speaker. Meeting are open to all GIS practitioners in East Tennessee. Watch the front page for New Meetings and Schedule of events.   • Geonet - A new regional GIS Users Group, focusing on the 16-county East Tenn. Development District area, has been formed. Meetings are open to all who are interested in sharing information about the utilization of geo-spatial tools, data and software. Meetings are held approximately every three months.   • TAPS - The Tennessee Association of Proffesional Surveyors have two user groups in the East Tennessee Area. Please go to the following LINK to find information and Points of Contact.
