JavaScript and GIS – Integrating Systems and People To Achieve Success
Keeping a Utility GIS alive and useful requires more than editing points, lines, and polygons: Integrating multiple systems, workflows, and people are essential. This presentation will provide a detailed explanation of the robust JavaScript viewers that are used by Fulton Water Resources to publish the GIS warehouse of utility data, integrating field staff work flows for maintaining accurate data, and work order CMMS reporting. Included in this suite of tools is a new JavaScript template that is used to create “plug-and-play” project GIS websites that can be set up quickly by staff with limited or no programming experience.  This JavaScript “website management” tool is a game changer in being able to publish project related GIS services and integrated data to key staff and stakeholders.
