Here are some of our customers and projects:
Customers
- Alexander Archaeological Consultants- Provided informal Arcview Training. Provided customized VBA scripting that hyper-linked images of Artifacts to tables in a database.
- Bradley County, Tn, GIS Department - Provided data editing and attribution in support to Bradley County's GIS Department. Support is currently provided on an as needed basis.
- Tri State Forestry Consulting - Provided extensive support for their forestry operations. Tri State Forestry manages about 60,000 acres in Tennessee. Their data was collected in MapSource, CAD, scanned maps, and shapefiles. Data was converted into an ESRI Geodatabase and current ground conditions were assessed using NAIP imagery and GPS data. We continue to provide support in the form of data conversion, analysis, and plotting. Subtype and Domains were developed as well as Topology rules to aid in data entry and attribution.
- Cumberland Forestry Services - Provided designation of GPS waypoints and tracks in proposed location of regeneration cuts in Catoosa Wildlife Management Area in East Tennessee. We used a combination of ArcINFO, DNR Garmin, and NAIP Imagery to complete this project.
- Forest Land Group- Provided support in the way of plots and Geoprocessing models. The Forest Land Group manages approximately 2,000,000 acres of Forest land in the United States.
- Watershed Services - Providing geodatabase design and ArcGIS services. We also provided data collection and photo-interpretation services.
- Conasauga River Alliance - Providing GIS services and plots to help in the remediation of the TN Section of the Conasauga River Watershed.
- Mesa and Associates - Providing Data conversion, Data Collection, and Spatial Analysis for Utility Projects.
- TVA - Providing customized ESRI training to TVA's employees to help them use GIS in their work.
Volunteer Efforts
Although we are For Profit, we find that it is extremely important to volunteer time toward conservation organizations that are Non-Profit. If you have stumbled upon us and you are a non-profit organization, give us a call if you need help. We can't guarantee everything we do will be free - but it will be extremely affordable.
We have also joined ESRI and National Geographic's GeoMentoring Program. Please drop us a line if you are an educational facility tht would like some help in the GIS world.
- Conasauga River Alliance - The Conasauga River Alliance is a collection of persons and businesses that reside within the Conasauga River Watershed. The river itself is home to over 90 species of fish and provides numerous recreation opportunities to the citizens of two states - and it's only 90 miles long. The Conasauga starts in the mountains of North Georgia as a crystal clear river. It's terminus is severely impaired by agriculture and industry. Over the last year, NRGS has provided several plots to help the CRA. The last round of plots lead to us to develop a Geodatabase that will hopefully serve as a base to develop into a GIS for this organization.
- Lookout Mountain Conservancy - The Lookout Mountain Land Conservancy is a non-profit organization committed to protecting Lookout Mountain which runs from Tennessee into Georgia, and then into Alabama. Lookout Mountain is a critically imperiled region representing one of the world's most biologically diverse temperate forests and the world's most biologically diverse freshwater ecosystem.
- Tennessee River Gorge Trust - The mission of the Tennessee River Gorge Trust is to enrich our community by conservation of 'Tennessee's Grand Canyon' through land protection, education and the promotion of good land stewardship. Not all volunteer efforts have be GIS related. This one is creating a whole new skill set - Shovelling.
- Cumberland Trail -The Cumberland Trail (CT), a Tennessee State Scenic Hiking Trail, became Tennessee's 53rd state park in 1998. The Justin P. Wilson Cumberland Trail State Park will contain a core corridor of 300-plus miles of trail beginning in the Cumberland Gap National Park (Ky) and stretching south to Chickamauga Chattanooga National Military Park and Prentice Cooper Wildlife Management Area just outside Chattanooga. In addition to providing multiple recreational opportunities, this protected greenway will act as a buffer to protect water quality and provide natural habitat for animals.North River Geographic Systems, Inc will be helping with Geodatabase maintenance and growth. We will also be working with Volunteers to speed up GPS data Collection.
- Caribbean SEA - From their Web Page "Our mission is to collaborate with island agencies to teach children about their connection with nature and to empower them to be leaders in the protection and restoration of their local environment, particularly the coral reef. Unlike environmental organizations that attempt to effect change from without, the Caribbean SEA works to make a difference from within. Our organization seeks business leaders from island nations who will sponsor local environmental projects. Caribbean SEA staff and volunteers then train local educators and students to design, implement, and monitor projects that conserve the local marine ecosystems. Through these efforts, the next generation of leaders will protect the environment which provides economic stability to the islands."
